I don’t normally…

put my thoughts here, but I’ve been thinking more about fashion and ethics.

As I get more interested in a proper appearance and attire my morality comes in to play more. This might seem foolish or odd, but I don’t think it is. It is however, certainly shallow.

As I look for the perfect pair of brogues or mariners I’m constantly confronted with leather and wool, which means I’m constantly confronted with why I don’t wear that leather, or drink that milkshake, or eat that candy bar I’ve wanted for the past 9 years. As more and more people I know give up on what was once a passion of theirs I am forced to ask if I really care or not.

The answer is I still do. How could I not? It doesn’t matter that I’d save $50 buying the leather version as opposed to the vegan one. That $50 is a life, and how is a life not worth that? What’s the price of looking good? For me it’s worth it to pay more and feel better knowing that little extra I put in is making even the smallest difference.
